Abstract

Ensuring justice in times of war in Ukraine is one of the most important challenges of modern international law. This article analyses the key functions of international judicial institutions, including the International Criminal Court, the European Court of Human Rights and ad hoc tribunals, in achieving justice, ensuring accountability for war crimes and promoting human rights. The author uses tools of comparative analysis, as well as methods of historical and legal research. This paper discusses the current challenges and problems faced by international courts in dealing with cases arising from war, including political pressure, evidence gathering, and links with local jurisdictions. It also discusses international cooperation and the importance of court decisions in setting precedents that strengthen the global justice system. The study argues that it is necessary to consolidate international and national legal systems to strategically achieve justice goals.
